The Systems Administrator will provide direct user support, maintain documentation, research hardware/software, and manage operating systems on both physical and virtual machines while ensuring security and performance.

Highlights

Develop and maintain advanced IT systems supporting research, instruction, and business functions of the College community.
Manage virtualization environments including Proxmox, Hyper-V, and VMware vCenter.
Use configuration management tools such as Ansible and Cfengine, and monitoring applications like Zabbix.
Support HPC cluster management technologies including Warewulf, Slurm, containers, and Infiniband.
Administer Ubuntu/Debian Linux servers and desktops as well as Microsoft Server environments.
Perform continuous security vulnerability management, patch management, compliance scanning, and web application security.
Interact with faculty, staff, and students to troubleshoot single or multiple IT system issues.
Required qualifications include at least five years of professional experience in systems administration on both Windows and Linux platforms and strong communication skills.
Preferred skills involve deep Linux server knowledge, virtualization, security monitoring software, HPC concepts, and familiarity with academic research software.
Position is full-time, permanent staff with a proposed start date of February 2, 2026, requiring occasional on-call, nights, or weekend work.
