Department Overview:
Cascade Life Alliance (CLA) is the federally designated organ procurement organization (OPO) with out clinical teams serving 85 hospitals in Oregon, southwest Washington, and western Idaho. Our staff of nearly 100 provide organ recovery services to the hospitals within our geographical area and transplant centers nationally. Our organization operates 24/7/365 and has remote offices in Boise, Idaho, Southern Oregon as well as staff stationed across our service area. The duties of this position are in support of the mission and goals of Cascade Life Alliance, to save, enhance, and heal lives through organ donation and transplantation."
This position is responsible for maintaining, deploying, troubleshooting and training staff in dept. specific technology and equipment in collaboration with OHSU, CLA BI Analysts, and vendors. The ideal candidate is skilled at assisting individuals with different levels of skill and does so with compassion, patience and flexibility. This position must have a strong desire to work closely with and be a strong advocate and representative for the end-user; which may include trialing resources and creating tailored training or support based on feedback received from end users. Function/Duties of Position:
Asset Management
- Order, receive, log, store, and distribute physical equipment
- Setup and maintain organization systems for physical equipment, which can be used by support and remote staff.
- Manage physical assets and leasing in asset tracking software
- Prepare and distribute new hire equipment, and setup equipment for new workstations as needed
- Proactive asset management such as identifying out of warranty devices, software upgrades etc.
Triaging and Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot equipment and software as needed Triage, delegate and complete IT related CLA Technical Assistance Tickets and OHSU IT tickets.
- Work closely with OHSU ITG for resolution of technical issues
- Schedule and host drop in office hours tech support
Maintenance
- Collaborate with vendors to establish routine maintenance, deployment plans, software upgrades, and organize required trainings.
- Research new software applications as assigned
- Design, develop and document new applications, equipment or technology workflows.
Education and support
- Deliver new hire and employee trainings as needed
- Hosting occasional basic education sessions ("what is the Internet", "Computer tips and tricks", "basic online security").
- Assist in maintenance and development of IT related content for SharePoint site
- Assist various departments in streamlining tech processes
- Provide user application support (Outlook, Excel, PowerBI Online, WebEx phone calling and recording, etc.)
- Develop and provide basic IT education modules and resources including tailored education for staff in need of additional support
- Be available for in person and remote office assistance including with hybrid conference tools, presentations, troubleshooting and support.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and one year work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
- Associate’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and two years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
- Three years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience will be substituted for an Associate’s degree and two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.

Additional Details:
This position is based at CLA headquarters located in Portland, Oregon and is a hybrid position, with a set schedule during business hours on M-F. Schedule specifics to be determined with final candidate however requires an in-office presence full time during orientation. This position may, on the rare occasion, require travel to our remote locations or need be on call/operate outside business hours in case of software or equipment deployment. This is not an on-call position outside of prescheduled and planned events.
