Advertising/Posting Title | Systems Engineer, AI and Modern Work
Posting Summary | The Artificial Intelligence and Modern Work Systems Engineer position is focused on implementation and technical consulting for Artificial Intelligence and Modern Work solutions. As part of the SAA Collaboration Services team, provide university-wide consulting about emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence tools and helping to build AI services and solutions to address campus needs. Support modern work solutions at UVM by providing guidance and training for services such as the Microsoft 365 platform; assist departments with expert guidance for tools such as Power Automate to support low-code workflow solutions, bringing processes improvements across UVM. Promote and enable enhanced consulting, structured end-user training, departmental engagement, and proactive adoption programs for Microsoft 365, Copilot, and adjacent technologies, with the goal of lifting organization-wide productivity through wider and deeper adoption of modern work practices and collaboration tools and services.
Assist departments and employees make more effective use of AI and modern work tools, in secured UVM managed environments, prioritizing data security and privacy. This work will help maximize the value of UVM’s licensing investments by providing training and consulting for both AI and our Microsoft 365 environment.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) | Bachelor’s degree in technology related field and five years of relevant experience. Four additional years of experience can substitute for the degree. Excellent written and verbal communication, documentation skills, and experience public speaking and delivering trainings. Experience with Generative AI systems like Copilot and ChatGPT, including experience building agents and chatbots. Expertise with Microsoft 365 services administration. Effective troubleshooting skills, including system and network diagnostic experience. Excellent customer service experience.
Desirable Qualifications | Proficiency with Windows scripting and automation tools, ideally PowerShell. Experience with Power Platform tools such as Power Automate and Power BI. Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy. Expertise with Exchange, SharePoint, traditional file and print services, or related technologies. Experience working at an academic institution.
Anticipated Pay Range | 70,000-95,000
