Primary Purpose of the Organization: |
Fayetteville State University (FSU) Learning Center, located on Fort Bragg is accepting applications for a temporary administrative support specialist. The FSU Learning Centers is a centralized space for active-duty service members, dependents, veterans, and Department of Defense civilians to access student services to strengthen their ability to navigate Fayetteville State University. The goal of the Fayetteville State University Learning Center is to enhance the student experience by offering hands-on assistance with the application process, financial aid, military tuition assistance, academic advising, course registration, degree planning, making payments, JST evaluation, Green to Gold program, MYCAA, AECP programs, and navigating university resources.
Primary Purpose of the Position: | The Administrative Support Specialist serves as the first point of contact for the FSU at Fort Liberty Office, providing high-quality customer service to service members (active, guard, and reserve), veterans, dependents, and DoD civilians. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to effectively learn and convey FSU policies and procedures. The role involves assisting with application inquiries, clerical duties, event coordination, and maintaining informational materials.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: | High school diploma or equivalent. One year or more office support or similar work experience in an administrative capacity; preferably in an academic environment. Experience working in a military environment required
Knowledge skills and abilities: |
Demonstrated level of professional customer service and interpersonal communication skills Knowledge of principles and practices of basic office support and management Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook; ability to train on and learn new computerized systems Keen attention to detail, problem solving skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality while managing competing priorities Ability to communicate and work alongside faculty, staff, students, vendors, and outside guests of the University in an effective and professional manner.
