Job Description
We’re looking for a Training and Sales Specialist to join the Benefits Division at Symetra!
About the role
In this role, you’ll lead the development and execution of training programs that support the growth and success of our sales team. Your work will directly impact how new and existing sales team members learn, grow, and contribute to our business goals. You’ll focus on three key areas:
- Onboarding new sales hires to ensure a smooth and productive start
- Sales training to build and reinforce skills across the team
- Sales rep development to support long-term growth and performance
You’ll collaborate with sales leadership, subject matter experts (SMEs), and cross-functional teams to deliver engaging, effective training experiences.
What you will do
- Lead onboarding for new hires, including scheduling, resource coordination, and feedback collection
- Design and deliver training programs to support sales effectiveness, including live sessions, learning materials, and refresher content
- Develop a sales rep growth program, including mentorship, rotational experiences, and external training partnerships
- Collaborate across teams to align training with business needs and ensure consistency
- Continuously improve training content and delivery based on feedback and performance data
- Support special projects as needed, reporting to the AVP of Distribution Strategy & Sales Effectiveness

Compensation
Salary Range: $77,600 - $129,400 plus eligibility for annual bonus program
Who You Are
- High school diploma required; college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in sales training and development, preferably in insurance or a related industry.
- Strong background in training design, curriculum development, and facilitation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
