About the Position
A Training Specialist supports the Director of Training in maintaining training programs and materials that strengthen Team Members’ skills and knowledge. This role also partners with our communities to schedule and coordinate training sessions, ensure materials and equipment are ready, and facilitate training. Essential Responsibilities
Training Sessions:
- Coordinate and schedule all training sessions, by:
- Contacting the Executive Director and Business Office Manager for approval to visit their community
- Confirming the dates work for the community
- Ensuring there is a minimum number of five (5) team members enrolled in the class
- Ensuring materials are set up
- Sending community confirmation of training schedules and details
- Coordinate and monitor state required training for compliance (i.e., Annual Continuing Education Units (CEUs), Pre-Service, and New Hire)
- Facilitate the following training sessions:
- Sterling Touch
- Service Recovery
- Additional training, as needed
- Support the following training sessions, if needed:
- Pre-service (FL only)
- New Hire training (i.e., orientation, onboarding, etc.)
- Additional training, as needed
- Complete Training Recap after each training session
- Keep accurate records of training activities (i.e. training calendar), attendance, and outcomes, ensuring completion requirements
- Build and distribute required instructional materials for the training sessions, as needed, with the direction of the Director of Training
Material Design:
- Assist in designing training session presentations, participant and facilitator guides, reference aids, eLearning courses, etc.
- Work with internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to help develop specialized training content
- Assist in updating legacy documentation and presentations
- Assist in rollout of new systems, processes or system updates
- Research and incorporate the latest training techniques and technologies
Learning Management System (UKG Pro Learning) Administration:
- Assist in managing UKG Pro Learning, by:
- Uploading content
- Monitoring training and pulling reports, when needed
Administration:
- Partner with Director of Training to plan the annual training calendar, updating as needed to meet business objective
Qualifications and Requirements
The Training Specialist must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant major, required
- Certification in Training, Communications, or a related field preferred
- One or more years of experience facilitating and developing training
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
- Must provide a portfolio of previous work, projects, and training deliverables
- Comfortable with public speaking and adept at delivering presentations to both large and small groups both virtually and in person
- Demonstrated experience organizing and executing multiple training events, ideally in a corporate setting
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Hands-on experience developing eLearning content using Articulate Storyline
- Familiarity with navigating and leveraging Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Strong understanding of instructional design principles and best practices for creating effective training materials
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across departments and teams
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
