The training specialist is a critical role for firsthand. This role will help support the development of our team members as we rapidly grow and evolve. You will be involved in the administration and implementation of dynamic training programs that support clinical roles at all levels of the organization. Reporting to the Director of Learning & Development, you will work collaboratively to ensure our team members have the support they need to thrive. Through this work, you will be supporting the highly impactful goals of our organization. This is not just about training an EHR - you will be involved in training both clinical and non-clinical team members alike, building culture and driving performance. You will use data to drive decisions, lead engaging training sessions, and support team members as they grow into (and beyond!) their roles.
As a Training Specialist - Clinical you will:
- Serve as owner of Clinical Onboarding & ongoing training including shadowing, delivering feedback, and coaching on best practices
- Collaborate closely with Clinical Support Team and practicing Clinicians to ensure training aligns with current practices & initiatives
- Support Learning & Development Initiatives by leading training sessions for our growing team
- Develop and maintain training materials including guides, online learning content, instructional materials, etc.
- Develop sessions and materials that bring clinical concepts to life for non-clinicians
- Serve as Learning Management Administrator to ensure team members are enrolled in appropriate sessions, monitor completion of training plans
- Coordinate with stakeholders across the organization to develop and implement needed training
- Measure and monitor training effectiveness, and work collaboratively with the L&D Director to evolve programs
- Travel to different communities up to 60% of your time, particularly to launch new markets
You will be a good fit if you have:
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and a desire to build
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
- Experience with online webinar and course creation tools (Articulate 360 is a plus)
- A passion for leading inclusive and empowering training programs
- A resourceful, action-oriented mindset
- A willingness to travel
The experience you bring to this role includes:
- Experience with change management and launching new teams
- 3-4 years experience as a practicing clinician in an RN, Nurse Practitioner, Physician’s Assistant Role or other licensed role
- 3-4 years experience as a trainer, facilitator or educator - particularly skilled with large audience facilitation
- Experience leading both in-person sessions and interactive webinars
- Experience working collaboratively with different levels of staff across Community-based and Support teams
- Strong experience with Electronic Health Records training

- Have experience in tools including Slack, Google Suite and other tools that support asynchronous work is not required but is a strong plus
$90,000 - $90,000 a year

For full-time employees, our compensation package includes base, equity (or a special incentive program for clinical roles) and performance bonus potential. Our benefits include physical and mental health, dental, vision, 401(k) with a match, 16 weeks parental leave for either parent, 15 days/year vacation in your first year (this increases to 20 days/year in your second year and beyond), and a supportive and inclusive culture.
Vaccination Policy
Employment with firsthand is contingent upon attesting to medical clearance requirements, which include, but may not be limited to: evidence of vaccination for/immunity to COVID-19, Hepatitis B, Influenza, MMR, Chickenpox, Tetanus and Diphtheria. All employees of firsthand are required to receive these vaccinations on a cadence/frequency as advised by the CDC, whereas not otherwise prohibited by state law.
