The Training Specialist I will help Associates meet the goals of Premera Blue Cross by giving them the opportunity to achieve optimum productivity through successful technical training. The incumbent is responsible for delivering effective training on Premera's operational systems. Some travel to branch offices may be required.
What you will do:
- Conduct successful classes (in-person and virtual) on assigned Premera operational systems.
- Use effective training techniques and methods based on adult learning principles.
- Collaborate effectively with peers to ensure successful class delivery.
- Foster strong working relationships with Team Leaders and Technical Support Staff.
- Responsible for thorough preparation prior to and throughout the duration of classes, including reviewing training materials, planning activities, and updating examples as necessary.
- Maintain proficiency levels on technical platforms as well as all lines of business through continuous learning.
- Effectively communicate with business partners and leaders throughout the training delivery process, including expectation meetings, daily status reports, and post-graduation debriefing.
- Lead the classroom experience by monitoring attendance, testing productivity and accuracy levels, addressing individual or team behavioral issues, providing accurate and appropriate feedback to trainees and elevating performance issues to the appropriate management team.
- Collaborate with customers to evaluate and address specific training needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you will bring:
- An Associates degree or two years of work experience (Required).
- One (1) year of experience in a customer facing role or experience public speaking/training (Required).
- Prior experience within Ops Learning and Development team.
- Two (2) years of experience public speaking/training experience, including the ability to cross-train others and train all levels of the organization.

- You'll work closely with various departments, including marketing, IT, and customer service, fostering strong working relationships and collaborating effectively with peers.
- Maintaining proficiency levels on technical platforms and all lines of business through continuous learning.
- Continue to build effective communication skills by partnering with business partners and leaders throughout the training delivery process, including expectation meetings, daily status reports, and post-graduation debriefing, is essential.
- Using effective training techniques and methods based on adult learning principles will be a significant part of your responsibilities.

- This is primarily a sedentary role which requires the ability to exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.
National Salary Range:$51,000.00 - $76,500.00
National Plus Salary Range:$58,100.00 - $87,200.00
*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
