The Transformation Planning Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Transformation Office by managing the intake pipeline for strategic initiatives and facilitating ideation processes. This position ensures alignment among funding, approvals, and resource capacity, enabling a smooth handoff to the Project Management Office for execution. The role is designed to strengthen portfolio management capabilities, improve clarity on project scope and intent, and drive alignment with broader business objectives.
This is a permanent, full-time role with flexible working arrangements. Core availability is required during standard Monday-Friday office hours. The position is primarily remote; however, being based in the DC area is advantageous due to an estimated 10% travel requirement for meetings and in-person workshops.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organize and lead sessions to capture strategic ideas and transformation opportunities.
- Oversee the process for new project submissions and ensure timely evaluation.
- Collaborate with CFO Office and Transformation Office to validate budgets, approvals andresource allocation.
- Document resource and capacity overlaps across teams to optimize planning and avoid bottlenecks.
- Assist in creating project profiles, including sponsor, delivery owner, scope and success criteria and dependencies.
- Apply strong business acumen to assess the strategic value, financial impact and success criteria of transformation projects.
- Ensure smooth hand-off of transformational projects to the allocated PMO Manager for execution, or project manage selected initiatives directly where appropriate.
- Support leadership in prioritization decisions and provide insights on portfolio risks and opportunities.

Experience and Skills
- Experienced with web-based platforms such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or other PPM tools to plan, track, and report on projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, project management or equivalent work experience is required.
- 8+ years’ experience managing complex projects, from initiation through to successful delivery, with a focus on transformation.
- Professional project management certifications such as PMP, Prince2, or Agile Practioner are highly preferable.
- Prior experience in change management, organizational alignment, or cultural integration is advantageous.
- Prior experience in a matrixed organization is advantageous
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Prince2, PMP, Agile) with the ability to apply them appropriately across projects and workstreams.
- Exceptional skills in managing stakeholders and communicating effectively at all levels of the organization, including ability to lead discussions and drive consensus among stakeholders.
- Financial literacy and understanding of budgeting, ROI analysis and business drivers.
- Demonstrated sound judgment, business acumen, and a professional approach to all interactions.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical mindset and able to process complex information and translate it into project intent, scope and priorities.
- Ability to understand the wider business context, anticipate challenges and ensure initiatives deliver measurable value.
- Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environments, effectively managing shifting priorities.

- The base salary range advertised represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
