Job Description

Overview

The Technical Training Manager develops and delivers technical training/education materials specific to a department, company products, technology application, or to reinforce compliance requirements. Conducts needs analysis to determine training needs and priorities. Plans, organizes, and implements training and educational materials. Coordinates training schedules and production of training materials (i.e., manuals, quick reference guides, webinars, etc.). Collaborates with management and provider to identify opportunities to streamline processes and develop new procedures that support the business unit/department.

Responsibilities
  • Identifies learner information gaps based on feedback and modifies courses and/or implements new course requirements to address gaps and inconsistencies.
  • Manages project plans and projects with key stakeholders, user groups, and vendor(s), where applicable for course updates and creation of learning content.
  • Creates, tests, and communicates new site process and procedures for learners and site administrators.
  • Conducts weekly meetings with platform organization on site functionality, reporting, and project status.
  • Collaborates with technical teams on site integrations.
  • Ensures course descriptions and site graphics are up-to-date to address and assess the educational needs and requirements of external and internal users.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in learning content management, training coordination, instructional support, or a similar role.
  • Proven ability to analyze learner feedback and identify information gaps, with experience modifying or improving learning materials or processes.
  • Demonstrated skill in managing projects and coordinating with key stakeholders, user groups, and vendors to deliver updates or new content on time.
  • Experience in creating, testing, and communicating new processes and procedures for end users and administrators.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings and provide clear status updates on functionality, reporting, and projects.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams on integrations, troubleshooting, and site enhancements.
  • High attention to detail with experience maintaining accurate course descriptions, graphics, and other site content to meet the needs of internal and external learners.

Hybrid Work Environment
AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work can only be done within the United States and its territories.
