Overview: 
Salary $55,000 year
Scope of Position
 
The Houston Gulf Coast Youth Career Advisor serves as the primary point of contact for youth participants, guiding them through enrollment, assessment, career planning, program activities, and ongoing case management. Responsibilities: 

Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct intake, eligibility determination, and case management
· Develop and monitor Individual Service Strategies (ISS)
· Provide career counseling, labor market information, and referrals to supportive services
· Track youth progress toward education, training, and employment outcomes
· Ensure compliance with WIOA youth requirements and documentation standards
· Assist in the preparation of project reports as needed (participation, placement, etc.)
· Accurately complete required documentation for enrollment
· Work with government officials to ensure appropriate documentation is completed and received
· Create solutions to participant attendance problems
· Provide consistent and comprehensive case management and follow-up
· Provide individualized assessment of knowledge, behavior, and work skills
· Provide referrals to appropriate community service or social service agencies when needed
· Maintain an organized database of customers and keep detailed documentation of all contact with customers
· Document all participant contacts and activities in case notes and ensure that post-placement contacts are made as required by specific contract
· Share information with appropriate staff and/or funding agencies
· Maintain participant files as specified by contractor
· Build a professional one-on-one working relationship with participants to aid in eliminating challenges that are hindrances to obtaining and retaining employment. This includes assessment, individualized attention, and coordination.
· Ensure participants follow through with planned activities as outlined in contract with funding agency
· Ensure that positive outcomes and goals are met as required by contract
· Other opportunities as available Qualifications: 

Education and Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
· Knowledge of workforce or education systems
· Case management experience with youth ages 14–24
· Experience working with disconnected or at-risk youth populations
· Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite and other required locations
Must have a current and valid drivers license and clean driving record
