Job Summary  | The Academic Program Coordinator serves as a key administrative leader within the College, overseeing critical operational functions and ensuring efficient academic program administration. This role requires independent judgment and discretion in decision-making related to faculty support, academic operations, policy implementation, and resource allocation. The Coordinator works closely with the Dean’s Office and department leadership, making independent decisions that impact academic program efficiency, student success, and faculty effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Program Management & Problem-Solving Identifies operational challenges within academic programs and implements strategic solutions, ensuring alignment with institutional policies and academic goals. Exercises discretion in evaluating and resolving complex issues related to faculty requests, student concerns, curriculum scheduling conflicts, and administrative processes. Interprets and enforces university policies, making authoritative decisions on procedural matters without requiring direct supervision. Develops and implements workflow improvements to enhance administrative and academic operations across multiple departments. 
Academic Operations & Faculty Support Manages faculty appointments, workload assignments, and contractual compliance, ensuring adherence to university and accreditation standards as directed by the Dean. Makes critical decisions regarding course scheduling, faculty workload distribution, and resource allocations to optimize academic delivery as directed by the Dean. Analyzes and approves requests related to faculty travel, professional development funding, and research support within allocated budgets. Reviews and determines appropriate responses to faculty and student concerns, providing solutions that align with university policies.
Leadership & Supervision Supervises and evaluates departmental secretarial staff, setting performance expectations, delegating tasks, and making personnel-related decisions, including hiring recommendations and performance management as directed by the Dean. Serves as a key decision-maker on operational policies within the Dean’s leadership team, contributing to high-level planning and academic program administration. Develops and enforces operational guidelines to ensure consistency and efficiency in department procedures.
Financial & Resource Oversight Manages program budgets, approving routine expenditures, ensuring compliance with funding guidelines, and making financial recommendations to the Dean. Oversees procurement and contract negotiations, making decisions on vendor selection, resource distribution, and cost-efficiency strategies.
Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or 5 years of administrative experience in higher education Demonstrated experience in independent decision-making and strategic problem-solving Strong understanding of academic policies, budgeting, and faculty operations
Preferred Qualifications  | Experience managing academic programs, faculty affairs, or departmental operations in a higher education setting Proficiency in data analysis, budgeting, and reporting to support strategic decision-making
