Job Summary
The Academic Recruiter recruiter undergraduate business students for programs currently offered by the College of Business at UT Arlington. Incumbent will also be involved in the planning, execution, and assessment of student recruitment related activities and/or events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partner with other College of Business outreach and recruiting staff to market and promote the college’s undergraduate programs off campus to businesses, community colleges, high schools and other organizations in connection with recruitment of students.
  • Contribute to the creation of an effective communication and recruitment strategy to encourage prospective students to select the college. These may include mailings, phone campaigns, electronic communications, college/high school visits, information sessions and other special events.
  • Attend recruitment fairs and conferences in order to establish relationships and collaborations with colleges/universities.
  • Act as a liaison between schools, community colleges, and community groups and the college to coordinate group tours, presentations and disseminate admissions requirements and program details to potential students and to influencers of potential students.
  • Effectively coordinate with university recruiting efforts and staff.
  • Develop and maintain professional networks and technical knowledge by participating in professional conferences and workshops.
  • Keep prospects informed by maintaining consistent and accurate communication from initial inquiry through the stages of applicant to enrolled student.
  • Review and evaluate prospective transfer student transcripts and provide general counsel on the requirements needed for College of Business undergraduate programs.
  • Continuously learn and update relevant program knowledge base to perpetuate accurate communications.
  • Collaborate with Business Undergraduate Advising to facilitate communication with admitted students.
  • Collect prospect data and maintain prospective student information database.
  • Monitor UTA reports related to undergraduate recruitment and admissions.
  • Generate and distribute to Dean, Associate Dean and/or Program Directors statistical data on applicants, newly-admitted students, newly enrolled students for undergraduate business programs.
  • Perform other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an AACSB institution and 2 years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, student affairs, and/or customer service and sales.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Bilingual – Spanish.
  • Three (3) years of consultative sales experience and marketing experience is valued.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and outside contacts.
  • Requires oral presentation skills.
  • Computer proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management programs) and familiar with electronic communications strategies including social media.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
  • Should possess a good understanding of higher education and issues related to student affairs.
  • Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
