Description of Work  | Responsible for leading the research business/organizational operations of the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools (CYFS). Provide leadership and oversight for the fiscal operation of CYFS, including budget monitoring, analyses, and forecasting. Report financial and organizational information to the Director for use in long-range planning. Develop and implement business plans, policies, and procedures; provide leadership, support and supervision to the CYFS administrative services team; and organize personnel operations. Assist the CYFS Director and co-Director in the evolution and implementation of strategic thinking for the Center. Working collaboratively with the College of Education and Human Sciences Business Team and the university to support best business practices.

Minimum Required Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Marketing, Human resources or equivalent. Seven (7) years of experience in business operations in any combination of accounting, grants/contracts, human resource, financial or business/information management. Supervisory or team management experience. Working knowledge of budgeting, accounting, grants/contracts, personnel and payroll practices. Supervisory and team management skills. Ability to develop, monitor, and forecast budgets, and generate financial reports. Ability to prioritize and work independently. Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing and possess a strong commitment to customer service. Strong interpersonal, technical, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills; experience in a business/team.

Preferred Qualifications  | Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources or equivalent. Ten (10) years of experience in business operations in any combination of accounting, grants/contracts, human resource, financial or business/information management. Supervisory or team management experience. Knowledge of federal regulations; working knowledge of university research; and experience working in a university, government or non-profit environment. Prefer experience in managing multiple projects and providing leadership and oversight of personnel.
