Job Summary/Basic Function: |
Position located in Columbus, Ohio.Ohio Revised Code (3333.162) requires that the Ohio Department of Higher Education and the Ohio Department of Education work together to ensure that students at secondary career-technical institutions are able to transfer agreed upon technical courses to Ohio public colleges and universities without “unnecessary duplication or institutional barriers.” On an accelerated and grant-funded timeline, the purpose of the Secondary Career-Technical Alignment Initiative is to combine the Ohio Department of Higher Education’s Career-Technical Assurance Guide (CTAG) process with the Ohio Department of Education’s Career Field Technical Content Standards revision process to create opportunities for post-secondary credit that will help Ohio students.
Minimum Qualifications |
Position located in Columbus, Ohio. Master’s degree. Minimum of two years of articulation and transfer experience in some combination of the following areas: academic administration, academic program development, accreditation process, credit for prior learning; career advising/placement; academic advising, student recruitment; curriculum development or career-technical education. Applicants must clearly demonstrate how they meet this qualification in their cover letter or resume. Some managerial experience (people, programs, or projects). An appropriate combination of education, training, course work, and experience may qualify as demonstration of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications | Ph.D. Five years of experience in higher education, preferably with articulation and transfer Experience in academic program development and implementation Supervisory experience.
Essential Functions and percent of time: |
40% Oversee and support the ongoing development of new and existing statewide secondary career-technical articulation agreements under the SCTAI with the following activities:Provide project management and leadership for all aspects of new and existing CTAG creation by working with faculty experts, overseeing work of faculty panels, managing the statewide endorsement process, and other activities up through CTAG announcement. Recruit and train faculty and industry experts to serve on CTAG development panels. Oversee the duties of the faculty subject matter lead experts and provide assistance when necessary. Communicate and work with faculty and relevant constituents on the Career-Technical Assurance Guide (CTAG) creation process and the career field technical content standards revision process. As part of the CTAG development process, work with other OATN team members to review transfer initiatives that serve other student populations (TAGs, ITAGs, MTAGs, One-Year Option, and Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathways) Work with the Department of Education and Workforce on the planning of CTAG revision schedule. Consistent with the goals of Perkins V reauthorization, include workforce trends data when determining new or updated CTAG opportunities.
30% Perform the administrative duties for the creation of the ITAGs with the following activities:Work on the Scope of Work for the CTAG Leads and other consultants. Monitor the MOU and contract process for CTAG Leads and other consultants and assist with the invoicing process. Provide budget support for resources needed to support the administration of the SCTAI. Develop and analyze endorsement surveys. Attend meetings and communicate regularly with a variety of constituents via e-mail, phone calls, webinars, and in-person meetings.
20% Oversee and support the assessment component of the SCTAI.Work with the Department of Education and Workforce, faculty, and test vendors on the development of statewide student assessments used for the award of college credit. This includes working with the post-secondary faculty on ensuring assessments align with competencies covered in course-level outcomes, attending item writing sessions, reviewing documentation from the Department of Education and Workforce, and assisting with faculty recruitment as needed.

Working Conditions | The Ohio Articulation and Transfer Network (OATN) is a consortium of the Ohio Department of Higher Education. The employee in this position will be a Wright State University (WSU) employee as WSU serves as the fiscal agent for the OATN consortium but the position is hybrid and
based in Columbus, Ohio, and reports to the Senior Director of Career-Technical Education Transfer Initiatives. The Associate Director will be responsible for assisting with the operation and direct administrative functions of the Perkins-funded Secondary Career-Technical Alignment Initiative (SCTAI) of the Ohio Articulation and Transfer Network.
