Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Associate Director of Transfer Partnerships provides strategic leadership for the University’s transfer enrollment initiatives through the development, implementation, and management of innovative transfer partnerships that expand educational access and advance institutional enrollment goals. Serving as the University’s primary liaison to community college partners, the Associate Director cultivates collaborative relationships with institutional leadership, faculty, advisors, and community stakeholders to strengthen transfer pathways, improve student success, and increase enrollment.

The Associate Director leads the University’s Eagle PATH transfer partnership and oversees the development and management of transfer enrollment pipelines, including concurrent enrollment initiatives, joint advising, pathway programming, and student engagement strategies that support students from initial interest through successful transfer and matriculation. Working across academic and administrative divisions, the Associate Director develops comprehensive enrollment strategies, identifies opportunities for partnership expansion, and implements recruitment and yield initiatives aligned with the University’s Strategic Plan.

The role utilizes enrollment analytics, market intelligence, and performance metrics to evaluate partnership effectiveness, guide strategic decision-making, and recommend continuous improvements. As a senior representative of the University, the Associate Director promotes UMW throughout the Commonwealth by building sustainable partnerships and representing the University at recruitment and outreach events. Regular travel throughout the Commonwealth, including occasional evenings and weekends, is required.

Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications

Strong knowledge of transfer admissions, enrollment management, and higher education partnerships
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Strategic planning and project management skills
Proficiency in analyzing enrollment data to inform decision-making
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Ability to manage multiple initiatives while working independently

Required Experience

Progressively responsible experience in higher education enrollment management, admissions, student recruitment, partnership development, or a related field, with demonstrated success developing collaborative relationships, managing strategic initiatives, and analyzing enrollment data.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a related field.

Compensation

Commensurate with experience, up to $75,000.
