Position Type: Regular, 40 scheduled hours, First Shift
Pay: $21.35 – $27.88/hour, with the offer falling within this range based on internal equity, unit budget, and candidate qualifications
Purpose: The BSPS Recruitment and Engagement Specialist will work to strategically implement the undergraduate recruitment plan with the goal of converting and yielding new first-year, transfer, and regional campus students into the Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (BSPS) program. This position reports to the Assistant Director for Admissions.
This is a highly visible position with the opportunity to be autonomous and will play an important part in strategic sizing for the college. The role meets with prospective students and their families, delivers academic overview presentations, coordinates Early Assurance Program (EAP) recruitment and interviewing, and represents the College of Pharmacy at Undergraduate Admissions events, including travel to in-state and out-of-state programs.
Duties:
- Develops and implements recruitment strategies, marketing materials, programs, and events targeting a specific segment of students
- Fosters and creates partnerships with Ohio State regional campuses and community colleges
- Oversees, manages, recruits, and trains the Undergraduate Student Ambassadors
- Assists with management of the prospective student email inbox
- Collaborates with the College of Pharmacy Marketing and Communications team to develop marketing materials, including emails, postcards, and giveaways
- Manages administrative tasks such as e-requests and travel requests
- Conducts telephone appointments and interviews to provide information on the institution and college’s admissions process and requirements
- Executes the recruitment strategy for the BSPS program
- Provides excellent customer service to students through application, enrollment, and initial term start
- Supports applicants through the entirety of the admissions cycle
- Some evening and weekend hours required, but not extensive
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience, and 2 years of relevant work experience
Other Qualifications:
- Experience in college advising and/or admissions
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
- Excellent communication skills, including writing and public speaking
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, ability to solve problems, work independently and with teams
