What The Role Is
The Associate, Training Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and evaluating technical training programs for Clearway field technicians and front-line leaders. This mid to senior level position leads projects, mentors junior training developers, and serves as a subject matter expert in learning and development. The role ensures training solutions are effective, scalable, and aligned with organizational objectives, working independently and collaboratively with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
What You'll Be Doing
Instructional Design & Development
- Design and develop learning programs utilizing advanced instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Kirpatrick model, adult learning theory).
- Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses to identify and address training requirements.
- Develop and refine learning objectives, assessments, and multimedia content to deliver high-quality learning experiences that support organizational goals as well as provide framework for Kirkpatrick model levels three and four measurements.
- Create and update instructor-led training materials, ensuring alignment of content, assessments, and evaluations with measurable, meaningful and clear learning objectives.
- Deliver instructor-led training material packages to SME instructors, performing all phases of train-the-trainer sessions, as well as familiarizing them with use of all training materials.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Collect and analyze participant feedback and assessment data to recommend and implement improvements to training content, materials, delivery methods, and learning outcomes.
- Leverage data-driven insights to report on and enhance program effectiveness in support of organizational objectives.
Collaboration, Leadership & Mentorship
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure content accuracy and alignment with business needs.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, providing constructive feedback and supporting their professional development.
- Lead project teams or workstreams, define deliverables, establish development timelines, be accountable for reporting and meeting project milestones.
Project & Resource Management
- Manage multiple training development projects concurrently, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, Industrial & Organizational Psychology or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Professional certifications such as APTD, CPTD, or PMP a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in training development, instructional design, or technical training.
- Proven track record in developing, implementing, and evaluating training programs.
- Demonstrated understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and training evaluation frameworks. Portfolio or work samples desired.
- Demonstrated proficiency with LMS platforms and eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise).
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Critical thinking, e.g. able to analyze and present courses of action, make well-reasoned recommendations and at times be productive within ambiguity.
- Superior written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Experience mentoring or coaching junior staff.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.
Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations
$89,000 - $110,000 USD
