Mississippi State University is hiring an Academic Coordinator to support the Assistant Athletic Director for Academics by facilitating the academic progress and development of student-athletes. The role involves providing academic guidance, maintaining student records, coordinating with faculty and coaches, and supervising graduate assistants and student workers.
Highlights
Provide academic assistance to student-athletes including enrollment, admissions, counseling, and monitoring attendance and progress.
Maintain and update student-athlete academic records, degree program information, and eligibility documentation.
Serve as liaison with university faculty, admissions, and registrar staff, and communicate academic matters to coaches.
Supervise graduate assistants, student-workers, tutors, and interns as needed.
Required knowledge of Grades First software and NCAA/SEC rules and regulations.
Must have strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or related field with 2-4 years of relevant athletic academic office experience; a Master’s degree and 4-5 years of experience preferred.
Technical skills include computer proficiency and the ability to work with diverse populations.
Work involves office environment duties with occasional after-hours and weekend work, plus limited travel.
