Department: FAES | Academic Program Administration

Location: Columbus Campus, Columbus, OH

Position Type: Term (Fixed Term), 40 scheduled hours, First Shift

Pay: $21.35 – $27.88/hour, with the offer falling within the range based on internal equity, unit budget, and candidate qualifications

Purpose: Assists in the implementation of career development programming for the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). The individual will be expected to have and/or develop knowledge of and work with all CFAES programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Program development and coordination with an aggressive emphasis on the development, growth, and expansion of internships within OSU Extension (30%)
Provides individual and group career advising/coaching to students (25%)
Assists with coordination and facilitation of training and career development workshops for students, including resume preparation, job-search strategies, interview and experiential learning preparation skills (15%)
Assists with coordination and facilitation of training and workshops for extension educators, including internship need assessment, internship creation, intern onboarding guides, and supervisor/mentor training guides (15%)
Coordinates OSU Extension internship tracking, collection, and reporting (10%)
Serves as a liaison between the career development office and OSU Extension offices through partnership outreach (5%)

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
1 year of experience with career advising, student development, or a related area
Outstanding communication skills working with people individually and in large group settings
Ability to coordinate several projects and duties at the same time, with excellent organizational skills
Knowledge of online education and technology platforms, including Canvas (or other online course management system), Handshake (or other career services system), Zoom, and Microsoft Teams

Desired Qualifications:

Experience working with the OSU Extension network
Background and working knowledge of food, agricultural, and environmental sciences industries
Internship supervision experience
