Our Commercial Lines Operations team is currently seeking an Instructional Designer in our Worcester, MA or Howell, MI location. This is a full time, exempt role. This is a hybrid opportunity.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Instructional Designer is responsible for identifying and developing learning/instructional materials and support opportunities. This includes designing quality, state of the art training media and multi-purpose online reference materials. The identification and development process requires a close professional partnership with the customer and web production elements so that business needs are met in a timely manner. A high degree of technical competency using PC Windows and WEB based learning modalities is required.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
  • Manage multiple training design projects while maintaining competing priorities and deliverables.
  • Recognize gaps between the desired performance and what can be achieved by formal training and information design.
  • Develop a scope document and a project plan using best practices and identifying key sign-off points.
  • Monitor quality control to assure that effective and innovative alternative learning methods are meeting the customer’s needs.
  • Develop and write measurable action-oriented objectives, applying adult learning principles in design decisions.
  • Development of training and resource materials using instructional design software (ex. Articulate Storyline, Easy Generator, Camtasia, and Microsoft Office Suite). 
  • Work with appropriate subject matter experts for course delivery whenever appropriate.
  • Partner with team members to mentor subject matter experts who are part of the training delivery team.
  • Consult with customers to recommend alternative design and delivery training solutions through ongoing customer needs assessments.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
  • Typically has 3-5 years related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Proficient in developing in tools such as Articulate Storyline, Easy Generator, and Camtasia.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to handle many projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work well with co-workers, sharing information freely.
  • Demonstrate the ability to listen to customers, co-workers and deliver what is requested.
  • The ability to work within a given timeframe to produce the best product possible without exceeding deadlines.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Professional, consistent, and adaptable verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and able to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with Information Mapping desired.
