Job Summary  | The College Advisor position is responsible for providing academic advisement guidance and support to undergraduate students who are majoring in a field within the college for which they are assigned. The position will track student progress, identify potential academic challenges, and provide support to help students stay on track; develop and implement effective strategies to support student persistence; increase student retention; assist with support services; research and compile information on student trends and needs; and present information on matters related to student success to appropriate University administrators. The position serves as an advocate for students’ needs and concerns and facilitates connection between the student, staff and their assigned faculty advisor; and provides support for the overall advising process for the University in areas relating to student success, retention, progression and degree completion.
Minimum Qualifications  | 1. Bachelor’s degree
2. Minimum of one year of experience in academic advising, counseling, or a related field; OR minimum of three years of experience working in student services or related academic functions
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. High level of organizational and problem-solving skills
3. Proficiency with Technology including Microsoft Office applications
