Job Description:
Position Salary Range: $47,000 - $52,000 per year; offer dependent on experience
Under general supervision, coordinates activities and functions for the Classroom Scheduling department. Controls budget and ensures that program goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. Exercises autonomy and final decision-making authority.

Essential Duties:
  • Monitors incoming SalesForce cases, responds to requests for information, and makes changes to classes and events as necessary based on requests received. 
  • Evaluates incoming requests to schedule academic and non-academic events through Ad Astra, verifies requestor information, confirms or declines requests based on compliance criteria and scheduling policies. 
  • Reviews and analyzes daily reports of all open semester scheduling activities for the campus to identify unscheduled, invalid cross-list, double booked and overbooked classes/events. Identifies issues, investigates solutions, and initiates corrective action as appropriate.
  • Partners with scheduling coordinators across ASU to ensure classes are scheduled properly in compliance with scheduling policies, catalog requirements, and ASU/ABOR standards.
  • Troubleshoots unique scheduling issues as they arise, involves necessary departments and administrators to resolve issues involving the use of classrooms; shares solutions with internal and external department scheduling staff.
  • Participates in meetings and discussions related to course offering and classroom scheduling issues with a variety of campus partners and customers.
  • Analyzes course classroom needs and placement requests to maximize classroom utilization while keeping the university goals of retention and graduation of students in mind.
  • Works closely with coworkers to provide backup support and effective communication. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of higher education, university policies and procedures, and curricular support. 
  • Experience in course scheduling and planning. 
  • Experience working with student information systems and resource and content management systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Ad Astra, Salesforce, and Kuali).
  • Experience working with internet-based Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience working with document-sharing applications (e.g., Dropbox and Google Drive).
  • Evidence of effective communication skills.
  • Experience working in a team setting.
  • Evidence of high level of customer service delivered in a student services environment.

The Classroom Scheduling department is a team-oriented department. We seek individuals that work well in a team office setting and who will share their ideas with others. This position will have a lot of contact with people in the university community so strong communication skills are essential.
