Description | Reporting to the Director of Strategic Initiatives, the Coordinator, Strategic Initiatives will contribute to institutional goals by supporting key initiatives across strategic planning, compliance, and governance. This role ensures operational excellence through the coordination of administrative processes, stakeholder engagement, and communication efforts that advance the school’s mission. The Coordinator, Strategic Initiatives will help manage the infrastructure necessary for tracking progress on institutional priorities and supporting effective governance and compliance. The position requires availability for occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend hours in support of strategic priorities and academic activities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provides high level administrative and logistical support for school-wide initiatives inclusive of strategic planning, compliance, governance, and related special projects. Supports with the development, tracking, and documentation of strategic initiatives. Coordinates inclusive engagement efforts and cross-functional collaboration. Manages existing and developing future process workflows that support preparation of compliance materials and submissions. Drafts communications, updates, and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Manages the planning and delivering of educational materials and sessions related to governance, compliance, and strategy. Organizes webinars, meetings, and special events, including logistical planning and technical support. Contributes to the design and expansion of workflows and operational procedures. Coordinates and manages recurring and ad hoc tasks to ensure continuous process improvement. Attends professional development opportunities related to responsibilities listed above. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in education, public administration, organizational development, healthcare administration, or a related field required. Minimum of two years’ experience supporting strategic initiatives, compliance, or project coordination in a higher education or healthcare environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a proactive and adaptable approach to problem solving. High level of professionalism, sound judgment, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with project management tools, Qualtrics, graphic design software (Canva, Venngage, Adobe) and Zoom preferred. Must be mission-driven, intellectually curious, and committed to continuous learning and institutional improvement.
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree in higher education administration, public health, organizational development, or a related field preferred. Experience working in a medical education or health professions school setting with knowledge of governance structures within these institutions is a plus. Experience supporting strategic planning cycles or institutional effectiveness initiatives through collaborative, detail-oriented execution from creation through evaluation. Experience developing communications and educational materials for institutional initiatives. Proficiency with project management platforms (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.

Salary/Salary Range | $59,000 - $63,500

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education. In addition to the salary offered, we offer a collegial and inclusive culture, and a benefits program which includes generous paid time off, paid holidays, tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents, and a retirement plan with University contributions.
*Salary ranges indicated for positions covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement are in accordance with the CBA.
