This position is located at The Universities at Shady Grove, Rockville, MD.
The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) offers nearly 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs from nine Maryland public universities on one convenient campus in Montgomery County. The Macklin Center for Academic and Leadership Success provides support services to students completing degrees from one of the nine universities hosted at USG. Services include time management and goal-setting strategies, resume review, oral and written support, and the administration of disability accommodations.
Job Summary:
USG is recruiting a C1 Coordinator to support this unit. The position will run from April 15, 2026, until October 15, 2026. The Coordinator will provide on-site support to students consistent with the services offered by the Macklin Center for Academic and Leadership Success. Additionally, the Coordinator will provide guidance to students, faculty, and staff seeking general information.
Duties:
- Coordinate in-person events, including tabling for program services, walk-in appointments, and drop-in events.
- Conduct one-on-one appointments regarding time management, goal setting, and public speaking strategies.
- Assist with program presentations to prospective and current students.
- Manage the check-in process for students taking exams within the Macklin Center and assist with organizing students before and after exams.
- Serve as a liaison between the testing room (BSE-1322K) and the main Macklin Center office, working with the team to anticipate and meet student needs during high-volume periods (e.g., midterms, finals, and events).

Preferences:
Bachelor's degree (degree in English, Communication, Psychology, or related field).
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a higher education or similar setting, preferably in direct service to students; experience should include some program and/or event coordination.
Ability to work with broad groups of students (culturally and academically).
Verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One (1) year of professional administrative or coordinator experience.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
