The Job Placement Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathways by connecting students with meaningful work-based learning opportunities, including internships, apprenticeships, and job shadowing aligned with their academic and career goals. This position serves as a liaison between students, educators, and industry partners, facilitating aligned placements that promote successful transitions to employment and postsecondary education. Additionally, the coordinator manages the logistics of job placement, tracks key program data, and ensures compliance with state, industry, and program standards.

This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.

  • Coordinate job placement and work-based learning experiences for CTE students, including internships, apprenticeships, job shadowing, and mentorships.
  • Provide job-readiness training such as resume writing, interview preparation, soft skills development, and workplace expectations.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses, industry representatives, community organizations, and post-secondary institutions to increase opportunities for students.
  • Manage operational logistics of student placements including scheduling, documentation, safety compliance, and MOUs with employers.
  • Serve as a central point of contact across campuses to ensure consistent, equitable access to placement opportunities.
  • Promote the integration of career development activities into CTE and academic coursework through collaboration with teachers and administrators.
  • Track student placement, certification data, and outcomes to support CCMR (College, Career, and Military Readiness) and program accountability.
  • Ensure alignment with state standards and industry expectations.
  • Support the implementation of Project-Based Learning and other best practices across CTE programs.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development at the local, regional, and national levels to stay current with workforce trends and educational practices.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance and supporting activities related to program funding and reporting requirements.
  • Help organize, coordinate, and participate in annual Advisory board meetings.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications:   
  • Bachelor’s Degree AND
  • Three (3) years of Career Readiness Education, Career and Technical Education, Career Services, or a related field
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certificates and Licenses: State Specific CTE Certificate (if applicable)

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience using a student information system and/or other type of database
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time
  • Ability to pass required background check

DESIRED Qualifications: Experience in a vocational school or Career in Technical Education environment. Experience coordinating employer partnerships or workforce development programs.

Preference will be given to candidates based in the DFW or Houston area to support regional employer partnerships and travel efficiency.
