The Data Analytics Consultant is responsible for curating a data infrastructure for customers that will cultivate successful implementation and adoption metrics. Their day-to-day responsibilities include translating user stories to data requirements and preparing data to meet customer needs. This individual provides data mapping, audit, validation, and change management consultation to ensure successful outcomes for new and expanding campus customers. 
 
This Consultant possesses a strong understanding of data principles and how to apply them in a higher education setting. They are comfortable working with both technical and functional stakeholders on campus. In this position, Data Analytics Consultants act as a best practice resource in building a strong data infrastructure that aligns with campus priorities and reason for purchase.
 
Primary responsibilities will include:
  • Providing data strategy consultation including user story identification, data mapping, data governance workflows, data validation, and change management services to ensure successful implementation and adoption of metrics
  • Designing strategic success plans that use reason for purchase and readiness metrics to optimize successful implementation experiences
  • Leading data strategy consultation during that cultivates data stewardship, infrastructure, and literacy needs on campus
  • Ensuring that barriers to timely completion of data exchange are anticipated and overcome
  • Working effectively in a cross functional environment to ensure timely completion of project requirements
  • Tracking trends and barriers to successful data strategy milestones
  • Coordinating technical implementation activities including authentication, site spin-up, LMS/LTI integrations, and data automation with technical services teams across Anthology
  • Strategically improving the data strategy processes in collaboration with Product Managers, Developers, Consultants, and Technical Services teams
  • Serving as a best practice resource for the broader Anthology teams on data strategy and governance topics
  • This role requires up to 25% travel
 
The Candidate:
Required skills/qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-5 years of professional experience
  • Tech-savvy, innovative, and comfortable with data
  • Experience in analyst tasks such as maintaining data systems, data mining/cleaning, and visualization building
  • Ability to help campuses conceptualize and translate strategic priorities into data
  • Ability to apply analytical and creative thought
  • Excellent project management skills: detail-oriented, organized, able to manage multiple deadlines
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivated with the ability to continue to develop expertise over time
  • Strong communication skills in written, oral, and presentation formats
  • Ability to solve problems using own critical and creative thinking skills, with an emphasis on innovation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, specifically in being able to build relationships
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to confront problems, change, and/or challenges quickly and enthusiastically
  • Customer service and solution-oriented
  • Fluency in written and spoken English 
 
Preferred skills/qualifications:
  • Educational background in educational technology, institutional research, data science, information technology, or other related fields
  • One or more years of experience in applying technology to one or more business functions and leveraging the underlying data to support initiatives
  • Advanced knowledge and comfort with Microsoft Excel
  • SQL database and/or other analytics tool experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing communication, risk identification/mitigation, and facilitating problem-solving activities
  • Experience in the higher education sector, including positions with associations, non-profits, and educational technology companies
 
Pay range is $97,000 - $100,000/year depending upon experience. We use national and industry-specific survey data to assist in determining compensation. Additionally, we consider factors such as external market rate, budget for the role, and the compensation rates of current employees performing the same function. Some roles will have variable pay.
