The Director, Integrated Marketing is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies and managing full-funnel performance across a defined group of university partners.
This role serves as the senior marketing lead internally and externally for assigned partner, providing strategic guidance on marketing, product, and performance funnel-related topics. The Director role collaborates closely with Partner Management, Research, Academic Services, Enrollment/Retention and marketing execution teams to ensure strategies are insight-led, partner-aligned, and operationally sound.
The Director manages a team of Integrated Marketing Managers to deliver excellence in execution, campaign performance, and partner engagement.
Reporting to a Vice President of Integrated Marketing, role success is primarily measured through funnel KPIs for assigned partners including leads, applications, new enrollments, ending enrollments, conversion rates, revenue and lifetime value (LTV)/customer acquisition cost (CAC) as well as the ability to optimize partner portfolios, deliver measurable growth outcomes and develop talent.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
• Manage the integrated marketing strategy and performance for a portfolio of ~6–10 university partners.
• Serve as the senior marketing lead for assigned partners internally. Externally own partner-facing meetings on topics including but not limited to marketing capabilities, performance reviews, enrollment projections, product and marketing optimizations, and special projects/pilots.
• Represent Integrated Marketing in strategic discussions and planning sessions.
• Partner with Partner Management to drive aligned growth planning, value delivery, and marketing execution.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external contacts; support Partner Management with managing partner satisfaction.
• Oversee new program launches to ensure strategic plans, quality execution and delivery against timeline.
• On fee-for-service engagements, ensure team is managing the marketing-related budget throughout the statement of work. Manage efforts to fully deliver on SOW commitments.
PARTNER STRATEGY & GROWTH
• In consultation with the VP, co-develop strategic account plans with Managing Director and Partner Support.
• Lead development of full-funnel integrated marketing strategies for assigned partners; develop annual integrated marketing plans as required.
• Provide strategic guidance and partner-specific inputs for annual and quarterly marketing planning and budgeting.
• Provide recommendations and input on program portfolio expansion and optimizations; develop and track enrollment forecasts for new programs with insight into market opportunity, competitive landscape, and audience demand.
• Define partner-specific marketing priorities and investment focus in partnership with Partner Management; align resource allocation and executional focus with segment-level goals and partner-specific opportunity areas.
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
• Manage full-funnel performance for assigned partners to ensure alignment with partner expectations and budget goals.
• Guide the development of performance-based action plans, including optimization recommendations and testing strategies in collaboration with channel teams and Partner Management.
• Monitor pipeline and ensure insights are translated into partner-facing performance updates and internal narratives.
• Provide strategic input on budget shifts based on performance trends, partner priorities, and forecasted outcomes.
• Lead key performance presentations with partners including but not limited to performance reviews.
INSIGHT DRIVEN STRATEGY
• Synthesize and present market research findings to inform partner, vertical, and program strategies as well as product and operational optimizations.
• Lead and synthesize research efforts including surveys, VoiceOps analyses, and focus groups to inform partner-specific, vertical, and program strategies.
• Oversee development of value props for new programs during launch process and maintenance of value props for existing programs.
BRANDING & STRATEGIC INITIATIVES
• Collaborate with Brand Strategy and Creative teams on brand strategy development, creative concepts, testing, and go-to-market plan and execution.
• Contribute leadership on pilot projects and special initiatives for assigned partners including but not limited to: providing strategic guidance on planning and execution based on knowledge of assigned partners, informing internal and external stakeholders, and providing feedback on process and ideas for optimizations.
TALENT DEVELOPMENT
• Coach and develop team members to build expertise, support career growth, and drive high performance through regular real-time feedback, 1:1s, quarterly check-ins and annual reviews.
• Seek informal 360 feedback from colleagues and stakeholders for direct reports and formal 360-degree feedback when required.
• Create development/growth plans with team members.
• Support Integrated Marketing leadership in professional development activities.
• Have an active leadership presence in Integrated Marketing team and other leadership-related meetings.
• Solicit feedback regularly on management and leadership style from team, manager and colleagues.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field required; Master's degree (MBA) strongly preferred.
• 7-10+ years of progressive experience in integrated marketing, portfolio management, or brand management; agency or account management experience highly desirable.
• Prior experience in higher education marketing, enrollment, or other mission-driven sectors highly desirable.
• Demonstrated success leading integrated marketing planning and execution across multiple channels, including paid media, content, field, and organic.
• Proven ability to develop data-informed strategies and translate insights into measurable outcomes.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high performing teams.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across levels, including external stakeholders.
• Strong digital marketing fluency, including performance measurement, paid campaign strategy, and channel optimization.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint); experience with Salesforce, Tableau, or marketing analytics platforms a plus.
• Must be eligible to work in U.S.
• Fully remote, some travel may be required.
