The Director of Curriculum Development is a senior leadership role within Accelerate Learning, Inc., responsible for setting the strategic vision, direction, and execution of the development and creation of educational curriculum products for students and educators. The Director provides leadership and oversight across all stages of curriculum development, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, evidence-based instructional practices, and market needs. This role leads and develops a team of Managers who oversee internal staff and contractors in the creation of high-quality curriculum. The Director reports directly to the Vice President of Curriculum. This position focuses on our Math Nation curriculum products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead the vision, strategy, and execution of new curriculum development and enhancement of existing products to achieve organizational objectives.Oversee the intake, prioritization, planning, and implementation of curriculum development projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.Manage, mentor, and support a team of Managers, fostering collaboration and accountability to ensure high-quality deliverables.Establish and monitor performance goals and conduct regular evaluations of team members to promote professional growth and operational excellence.Collaborate cross-functionally with other Directors, Senior Managers, and the VP of Curriculum to drive a seamless workflow from content development through production, publication, and maintenance.Develop and manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and project plans in partnership with the VP of Curriculum.Lead continuous improvement initiatives by incorporating internal and external feedback, research findings, and best practices into curriculum updates.Recruit, train, and develop a network of high-quality writers, subject matter experts, and reviewers to ensure content accuracy, innovation, and relevance.Champion professional development opportunities for team members, cultivating a culture of learning and excellence.Represent the curriculum development function at conferences, events, and stakeholder engagements as needed.Assist the VP of Curriculum with strategic initiatives, special projects, and long-range planning.Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of Accelerate Learning, Inc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience in curriculum development, instructional leadership, or related roles.At least 3 years of managerial experience overseeing teams and projects in an educational or publishing environment.Prior K–12 teaching experience preferred. COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.Skilled in online project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Monday.com).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods.Occasional travel required for conferences, events, and training, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
