Job Description
The Family Engagement and Enrollment Manager will be the face of operations for our students and families. They will ensure that they are effectively enrolled, welcomed, and onboarded to the school. They will also create, own, and execute projects that drive school attendance, registration, and enrollment systems and lead the campaign on family and student persistence at the school by increasing family engagement and strengthening family communications. The Family Engagement and Enrollment Manager will create a welcoming environment by delivering excellent communication and customer service to families and visitors.
Student Recruitment and Enrollment
- Work closely with the school leadership team and the Student Recruitment and Enrollment team to meet enrollment targets and adhere to the region’s student backfilling policy.
- Publicize, support, and attend the school's student recruitment events.
- Organize staff efforts to support student recruitment and enrollment processes.
- Manage enrollment processes for all new students.
- Collaborate with other school-operations staff to ensure enrollment compliance records.
- Directly follows up with families to ensure proper supporting documentation.
- Plan and execute family engagement events for new families, including Welcome Meetings, Back-to-School Nights, Family Orientation, and mid-year orientations.
- Engaging in critical conversations with families who are considering transferring out and escalating to other key stakeholders as needed.
- Plan, manage, and track completion of Welcome Visits for entering grade levels.
Family Engagement and Communication
- Build and guide the implementation of systems for managing communication, paperwork, and office activities as needed.
- Develop school-based marketing and messaging materials for visitors, teacher recruits, and families.
- Serve as the primary source of information for families, including generating all-calls, distributing newsletters, and other communications.
- Serve as liaison between parents, students, and staff with exemplary customer service skills in order to actively engage and build relationships with stakeholders.
- Manage incoming and outgoing paperwork for students and families.
- Answer phones and direct calls to the appropriate party, as needed.
- Create and implement a plan for family surveys.
- Build and implement a parent engagement strategy and events, including but not limited to:
- Report Card Conferences
- Title 1 Meetings
- Quarterly Town Halls
- Support Grade Level Chairs in grade-level/department-level family engagement activities
- Develop and leverage trusting relationships with families in the support of the school and the child’s best interests
Attendance
- Develop and implement incentive and intervention systems to increase student attendance
- Make daily attendance calls to absent students and support family concerns as needed to successfully reach families and impact attendance
- Auditing and supporting attendance calls and escalating family concerns as needed
- Track student attendance to maintain high data accuracy and high student attendance
- Work to ensure staff are consistently and accurately entering attendance records
- Collaborate with the Student Support Team to identify students needing additional support and design support plans and next steps
- Participate weekly in school-based Promise Teams
- Maintain high communication with families and staff to problem solve and support around attendance issues, and lead chronic absenteeism interventions
School Operations Projects
- Act as the emergency coordinator for student/ staff medical issues.
- Build and implement a supply management plan, including overseeing inventory and ordering
- Develop and execute project plans related to school-wide operations, such as technology, testing, nutrition, special events, field trips,s and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree from an accredited institution
- Customer service experience
- Excellent computer skills with database familiarity

- Previous experience in a customer service-oriented role
- Previous experience in an educational or non-profit setting
- Proficiency in Spanish and/or Creole

- Prolonged periods of sitting at computer or working at desk and significant fine finger dexterity.
- Often required to stand and sit.

KIPP Miami offers competitive salaries to newly hired staff. Salaries are based on prior experience and in accordance with certification requirements. The salary range for this role is $55,000-$78.282 hired applicants will be placed on the scale according to past experience.
