At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Ontario, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Ontario, CA

Details:

  • In-Person Tutoring in Ontario, CA
  • Schedule: 16 hours, 4 sessions a week for 1.5 hours
  • Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with high school students with Autism or other learning differences.
  • Skilled in executive functioning support, reading comprehension, writing, and high school–level Algebra.
  • Patient, structured, and flexible, able to adapt lessons to the student’s learning style.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience creating individualized learning plans.
  • Encouraging, engaging, and capable of building confidence while maintaining academic rigor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide structured instruction in English, including guided reading, comprehension strategies, organizing written responses, and supporting the use of text evidence.
  • Strengthen writing skills, including expanding answers, constructing clear explanations, and organizing ideas coherently.
  • Support Algebra instruction, helping the student understand core concepts, break down multi-step problems, and progress from concrete examples to abstract equations.
  • Model problem-solving strategies aloud and guide the student through reasoning before finalizing answers.
  • Reinforce retention of previously learned material through review and structured practice.
  • Incorporate the student’s interests, such as reading, history, and hands-on learning, to increase engagement and motivation.
  • Provide a patient, encouraging, and respectful learning environment, avoiding triggers that may cause frustration or behavioral challenges.
  • Communicate progress and strategies effectively with caregivers as appropriate.
