HR Recruiter Full Description

The Recruiter is responsible for managing the full recruitment cycle, attracting and pipelining ideal candidates to further Liberty University's mission. They work independently, exercise good judgment, and partner with university leaders and key stakeholders to develop a comprehensive understanding of candidate talent requirements and create targeted recruitment strategies. This position carries out various responsibilities within the HR Partnerships and Service team, including assisting in the implementation of new technologies for recruiting and working as a team to develop the talent acquisition function. The ideal candidate has a passion for service and exercises standout communication skills, demonstrating a desire to grow in a fast-paced and developing HR organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain an effective recruiting cycle that ensures a positive candidate and internal customer experience.
  • Manage full cycle recruiting including; consultations with hiring teams, promoting jobs, sourcing candidates, screening, interviewing, coordinating the selection and offer process, supporting the hiring process, and onboarding.
  • Partner with university leaders, hiring managers and key stakeholders to develop a comprehensive understanding of candidate talent requirements.
  • Develop and implement targeted job promotional and sourcing strategies, utilizing available resources to attract top talent.
  • Manage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) including posting positions, reviewing applications, closing postings, dispositioning candidates, tracking candidates through the hiring process and other functional requirements.
  • Assist with the interview process on an as needed basis, including attending or conducting interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods.
  • Assist with the execution and facilitation of various HR and recruitment events including new employee orientation hiring events, career fairs, and recruitment trainings.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local recruitment and employment laws, regulations, and university policies.
  • Stay up to date on emerging higher education trends to inform and guide recruitment strategies and recommend external recruiting technology or resources as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience 
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or comparable experience
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in Human Resources or customer service
  • Strong technical/computer skills using LinkedIn or other comparable platforms
  • Excellent communication skills
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Experience with Workday Recruiting
  • SHRM Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Workday, or related software.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting.  It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate. 

Driving Requirements
Use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position.  Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
