About the Position
Responsible for owning the design and development of targeted, technical learning experiences which improve employee performance in various functional departments. This position conducts a variety of needs assessments, links assessment results to measures of competence and business outcomes, creates learning objectives, and ensures thorough and high-quality communications, training outcomes and learning & development strategies are achieved, in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations

Day in the Life
- Partners with business subject-matter-experts (SMEs) to understand key business functions, systems and processes, learn technical requirements, analyze human performance issues, and identify targeted experiences to improve human performance and business results. Collaborates with the learning and development team to identify coursework needs, priorities and delivery methods, timelines, schedules, deadlines, and partnerships.
- Gains familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration with a focus on understanding functionality for content design, testing, and deployment. Develops assessment instruments to measure learner acceptance, comprehension, and application of processes and systems knowledge. Uses these instruments to perform assessments, then reports on assessment results and links assessment results to measures of competence and business outcomes. Uses data to create learning objectives and outcomes.
- Conducts stakeholder and SME interviews to determine, recommend and document project communication and training standards, learner engagement strategies and evaluation plans.
- Creates and owns a formal intake and development process based on models such as Analysis, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE), emphasizing aGoal/Task/Performance gap analysis.
- Professionally communicates with all stakeholders through the life cycle of each assigned project.
- Collaborates to develop effective project implementation and evaluation plans and regularly reports and documents each project's status.
- Utilizes a variety of media to produce materials that promote learning through various modalities, such as self-study, practice, performance support, socialization, and knowledge sharing. Provides recommendations on the most effective delivery modality. Applies best practices in instructional design with a focus on maximizing employee productivity, performance, and engagement Works with cross-functional stakeholders, at all levels of the organization to create a instructionally sound learning solutions suite, to include a mix of instructor-led workshops, coaching frameworks, webinars, online coursework, online tutorials, job aids, videos, games, simulations, informational learning, and other creative solutions.
- Creates and maintains graphics, infographics, videos, animations, interactions, instructor guides, quick guides, FAQs, and job-aids and other content as needed, using tools such as Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate, Vyond, Audacity, Speechify, and other technical support tools. Solicits feedback on training coursework continuously. Participates in cross functional meetings to identify training needs for new systems, processes, and tools. Facilitates in-person instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training as needed.
- Gathers and evaluates information from employees and management on previous training to identify opportunities for improvement or content modification. Recommends training materials, facility needs or software enhancements for budget preparation. Adheres to approved budget.
- Provides regular communications, mentoring and teambuilding to managers and co-workers as needed. Stays updated on all required trade and field training and certification requirements. Consistently makes decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of others.
- Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
- Promotes and models the Company mission, vision and values through exercising sound and ethical business practices, championing all elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and providing high quality services and programs as they relate to clients, subcontractors, co-workers, suppliers, and the public.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in education, adult learning, instructional system design, communications, human performance, business, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in performing needs assessments, designing and delivering instructor-led and online training for adult learners, and evaluation of learning programs.
- Experience with learning management systems.
- experienced tool mastery with Articulate 360 Suite, Articulate Storyline, Vyond, Speechify, Audicity, SnagIt, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word,and Microsoft Outlook.
- Demonstrated knowledge of key learning design concepts such as outcomes-based curriculum development and competency-based programs, adult learning principles and the learning development life cycle.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills and demonstrated experience working with clients and stakeholders to analyze existing practices and processes, recommend improvements and lead change initiatives as it relates to course design and delivery. Proficiency with course development using e-learning tools and multimedia programs.
- Exceptional planning, customer focus, teamwork, relationship-building, results-focus, and continuous learning behaviors.
- Expertise in change management and familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and applications. Strong process orientation.
- Superior listening, collaboration, conflict management and verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with employees at all levels, including senior-level management. Ability to work with and facilitate diverse work teams.
- Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking skills and detail orientation, and to drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative and sensitivity.
