IT Manager Full Description

As an IT Manager at AoPS, you’ll lead our IT team in empowering educators and students through technology. Your strategic leadership will directly support our mission of transforming math education by ensuring our infrastructure operates flawlessly while developing your team members through mentorship and leadership.

The IT Manager will:
  • Leads enterprise applications as system owner and subject-matter expert
  • Directs IT team operations, culture, and professional development
  • Partners with stakeholders to identify needs and implement tailored solutions
  • Engineers innovative systems and drives implementation initiatives
  • Shapes IT roadmap and strategic execution
  • Establishes and refines core IT processes and documentation
  • Champions performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
  • Cultivates and manages key vendor technical relationships
  • Serves as vital liaison between IT and organizational stakeholders
  • Provides escalation support for complex technical challenges

The ideal candidate has:
  • 5+ years progressive IT experience (Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred)
  • Experience managing staff in technical roles
  • Intermediate+ technical certification (Networking, Google Workspace, JumpCloud)
  • Enterprise computing expertise across Mac/PC, networking, security, and IT services
  • Remote support capability using specialized software and phone assistance
  • Basic hand tool proficiency
  • Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom administration (JumpCloud experience a plus)
  • Strong problem-solving and solution architecture skills
  • Project delivery and reporting expertise for diverse audiences
  • Exceptional detail orientation and communication abilities
