WHAT IS THE POSITION
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. You will work closely with our Security, DevSecOps, Development and Enterprise Support teams to provide top-tier support and implement robust cloud solutions that meet our business needs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
•    Reference industry best practices to build and maintain scalable and reliable IT architecture that supports our existing cloud infrastructure and services.
•    Utilize your expertise in Microsoft and AWS technologies to integrate and optimize cloud services within our IT ecosystem.
•    Crosstrain and mentor Systems Administrators, Cloud Engineers, and other aspiring team members
•    Manage and optimize network configurations, including VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls, for enhanced performance and security.
•    Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with cloud-related inquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction.
•    Proactively identify and troubleshoot complex technical issues to minimize downtime and maintain high availability.
•    Act as a senior point of contact for escalated cloud-related issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
•    Analyze requirements and reference industry best practices to advise in the design of scalable and reliable IT architecture that supports our existing cloud infrastructure and services.
•    Stay updated on the latest cloud technologies and trends to drive innovation within the company.
•    Spearhead the development and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. Leverage tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources. Ensure that all infrastructure deployments are repeatable, scalable, and secure.
•    Research, create, and maintain technical documentation that is beneficial to the organization.
•    Implement and manage web services using Windows Server and Internet Information Services (IIS).
•    Deploy and maintain containerized applications using technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
•    Configure and optimize web servers such as NGINX and Apache for performance and security.
•    Monitor system performance, application health, and traffic patterns to ensure optimal service delivery.
•    Administer Linux servers, ensuring they are properly maintained and secured.
•    Manage logging and log analysis to proactively identify and address issues.
•    Operate Microsoft SQL Server databases, including setup, maintenance, and performance tuning.
•    Design and implement clustering and high availability solutions to minimize downtime.
•    Develop and execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
•    Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities to maintain the security integrity of cloud services.
•    Advise and assist in the implementation of comprehensive information security policies and procedures across cloud environments.
•    Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical incident resolution and ensure system uptime.

WHAT IS REQUIRED

•    Proven experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms
•    Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment

•    A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent experience
•    Professional certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) is preferred
•    A strong and proven understanding of cloud security best practices and standards
•    Experience with IT architecture and Microsoft technologies
•    A strong and proven knowledge of networking principles and protocols
•    Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages
•    Proficient with IaC tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and similar technologies
•    Experience automating cloud infrastructure deployments and configurations

Pay range for this role: 
$120,000—$140,000 USD

Actual compensation will be determined based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill sets. All compensation decisions are individualized and based on the specific circumstances of each candidate.
