Position Summary
The Manager, Sales Training & Development is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of commercial training programs that enhance the effectiveness of sales professionals across the organization. This role partners closely with Sales Leadership, Product Management, Marketing, Sales Operations, Human Resources, and subject matter experts to deliver engaging learning experiences that accelerate onboarding, strengthen selling capabilities, and improve commercial performance.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Sales Enablement, this position plays a key role in executing the organization's global enablement strategy by developing scalable learning solutions, facilitating instructor-led and virtual training, managing learning content, and measuring program effectiveness.

- Design, develop, and facilitate engaging instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced sales training programs.
- Deliver training on consultative selling, value selling, negotiation, account management, pricing fundamentals, product knowledge, customer engagement, and sales processes.
- Develop role-based learning paths for new hires and existing commercial employees.
- Maintain annual training calendars and coordinate training schedules across business units
- Partner with commercial leaders to identify capability gaps and recommend learning solutions.
- Manage and continuously improve the commercial onboarding program for new sales employees.
- Coordinate onboarding activities across Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Operations, and Human Resources.
- Develop onboarding materials, facilitator guides, assessments, and job aids.
- Monitor onboarding progress and measure time-to-productivity for new hires.
- Create and maintain training materials, presentations, eLearning modules, videos, playbooks, quick reference guides, and facilitator resources.
- Ensure training content remains current with product launches, market changes, competitive positioning, and commercial priorities.
- Work with subject matter experts to develop technical and commercial learning content.
- Support content organization and maintenance within the organization's learning management and enablement platforms.
- Partner with frontline sales managers to reinforce training through coaching tools, reinforcement plans, and ongoing development activities.
- Assist in developing coaching resources that improve manager effectiveness.
- Support sales meeting agendas, workshops, and commercial development events.
- Administer learning programs through the Learning Management System (LMS) and other enablement platforms.
- Track participation, completion rates, learner satisfaction, knowledge retention, and business impact.
- Analyze training effectiveness using performance metrics and participant feedback.
- Recommend improvements based on business results and learner feedback.
- Partner with Strategic Marketing, Product Development, Sales Operations, Customer Success, and Human Resources to align learning initiatives with business objectives.
- Support product launches by developing and delivering associated training.
- Participate in cross-functional projects supporting commercial excellence initiatives.
- Assist with implementation of new enablement tools, technologies, and learning platforms.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field required.
- 5–8 years of experience in sales training, learning & development, sales enablement, commercial excellence, or related commercial functions.
- Experience developing and facilitating instructor-led and virtual training programs.
- Experience supporting sales organizations within manufacturing, industrial, packaging, or B2B environments preferred.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite, and learning development tools.
- Instructional design experience strongly preferred.
- Experience creating eLearning modules and multimedia learning content is a plus

Work Environment
Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes, vision and other protection required when in manufacturing areas.
This role operates in a professional office environment that may have some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is rarely exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing areas.

The position requires 25% of travel time.
