| Job Summary | U Career Success is seeking a Career Development Instructor & Career Coach to support first- and second-year undergraduate business students. This role blends classroom instruction with individualized career coaching to help students explore career paths, develop professional skills, and prepare for future internships and employment. The instructor/coach is housed within U Career Success and partners closely with the Business School to deliver a career development course, provide targeted coaching, and design engaging early-career programming for business students. The ideal candidate is passionate about student success, comfortable with change and innovation, collaborative and supportive, has a strong customer service orientation, a desire to succeed in placement metrics, and a high level of professionalism. This position will work with students in their first and second year primarily with Business School students. Knowledge and background in business or students exploring their future career path is preferred. Coaches must solve complex problems that relate to coaching individual students who come from a wide variety of backgrounds. These individuals are making life-changing choices. Each coach must know employment laws and ethical standards for hiring and recruiting. Our office follows the standards of the National Association of Colleges and Employers. | Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. |
