Description of Work 
The Program Associate will assist in developing, implementing, and coordinating all activities and functions of the Institute, and work closely with the staff and director. Working closely with the Program Coordinator, the Program Associate will assist in overseeing all aspects of weekly, periodic, and annual events and promotions. The Program Associate will also assist at regular curriculum meetings and in developing diverse program course offerings. This person must be able to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

Minimum Required Qualifications 
* Associate’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
* Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication.
* Attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
* Must be detailed oriented and flexible in performing work assignments.
* Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
* Excellent computer skills including MS Office, presentation software and database management. * Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.

Preferred Qualifications 
* Bachelor’s degree in education, adult education, or gerontology.
* Two to three years of experience with planning and coordinating courses, workshops, conferences, or seminars.
* Experience working with a lifelong learning community environment.
* Experience working with volunteers. Knowledge of adult learning principles.
