Job Summary
The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing prevention, education and linkage support to individuals receiving or identified as eligible to receive PrEP within the Immunology Department at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. The PrEP Navigator will provide direct linkage of care for people seeking to access PrEP, provide education and support for community partners referring patients to PrEP at the DMC, and provide support and information on PrEP to individuals seeking to decrease their exposure to HIV.
The Program Coordinator will be the primary staff person leading the Dorothy Mann’s Center work in PrEP. This position establishes, engages and maintains relationships with patients and community providers to educate, support, and equip PrEP patients with addressing barriers to PrEP medication and treatment adherence. Equip patients with the knowledge and skills to navigate the health care system appropriately. This position reports to the Prevention Manager at the Dorothy Mann Center.
Essential Functions
- Establish and maintain rapport and provide basic non-clinical linkage to care and patient navigation for individuals seeking PrEP.
- Work with individuals to assess their, develop adherence plans and coordinate PrEP related services through advocacy, education, support by accompanying patients to primary and sub- specialty appointments.
- Increase awareness of PrEP among patients, staff and community partners within St. Christopher pediatric associates by providing them with PrEP health promotion materials and current literature on best practices for implementing PrEP.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all clients of the DMC to the extent allowable by Pennsylvania and federal laws including HIPPA and the Penna. Confidentiality of Information Act (ACT 148).
- Collect and evaluate patient referral and health and insurance information to ensure access to PrEP and follow up with referral sources. 6. Documentation and charting relevant patient information such as prescribed PrEP regimen, appointments and demographic information.
- Create, distribute and evaluate effectiveness of PrEP program effectiveness.
- Expand the Dorothy Mann Center’s PrEP educational materials, pamphlet, and reference materials.
- Complete all documentation by assigned deadlines. 10. Occasional tabling and HIV testing at local community events.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in working with Adolescents in a reproductive health setting.
- 1 year experience working in reproductive and sexual health and/or providing direct services to teens. Counseling experience, a major plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of comfort working with adolescents and dealing with sexual and reproductive health issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual/bicultural English-Spanish, preferred but not required.

This position is classified as Exempt, grade I. Compensation for this grade ranges from $ 41,120 to $$ 61,680 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
