Job Description:
Coordinates multiple tasks simultaneously and autonomously which includes project management for the Spark Center for Innovation in Learning, executive support for a Distinguished Professor of Practice, and complex administrative duties of a responsible, sensitive and confidential nature requiring considerable independence of action in support of a Distinguished Professor of Practice in the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions.
Essential Duties:
- Manages multiple high-priority activities requiring considerable coordination and follow-through to meet requirements.
- Coordinates professor's involvement in University initiatives such as the Spark Center for Innovation in Learning (SCIL), neuroscience investment and research initiatives, and other University events and activities.
- Provides administrative support for professor; maintains professor's calendar; coordinates, submits for approval, and arranges travel; compiles, prepares and maintains background material related to meetings; events and travel; tracks follow-up.
- Works with SCIL Executive Director to develop project details, implementation and budgets; does follow-up on professor meetings and events related to SCIL.
- Analyzes administrative and operational functions; reviews policies and procedures systems for efficiency; implements appropriate changes and system improvements.
- Assists in development and distribution of relevant reports, research findings and other data to assist in SCIL decision making and operations.
- Independently composes correspondence on a variety of subjects requiring judgment, originality and knowledge of the issues involved.
- Represents the professor or SCIL staff at meetings, serves as a liaison between the professor and other areas of engagement within the university.
- Coordinates or assists in coordinating events, including arranging necessary equipment, catering, sending invitations and managing RSVP's.
- Provides business/finance transaction support such as but not limited to managing and reconciling a pCard, submitting tickets for SCIL expenses, etc.

- Ability to maintain an executive presence, maturity and sound judgment.
Working Environment:
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally in English, read, and write to perform essential duties.
- Regular activities require the ability to quickly set and change priorities which may include and/or are subject to the resolution of conflicts.
