The Senior Manager School Data Solutions is responsible for the analysis of current systems and processes to identify potential efficiencies and automation improvements, as well as serving as the subject matter expert for creating custom visualizations that drive decision-making across the Texas Managed public schools.

This is a full-time REMOTE position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 8am-5pm central time or as defined by the school.

- Direct the overall efficiency of a team of Data professionals utilizing Scrum/Agile best practices
- Design & oversee production of data reporting and visualizations that aid Instructional leaders and staff in making informed decisions regarding student growth, strategic planning for special population groups, etc.
- Design & oversee production of automation tools that streamline tasks in a variety of departments
- Apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our core products
- Establish strong partnerships with multiple teams, including School Operations, District Partners, School Administrators, and Shared Services, as those teams are the ones that drive most Project requests
- Manage the intake & assessment of requests for new Data Tools, Visualizations, Reports, Automation, Integration, and Process Efficiency evaluations
- Evaluate current processes of a variety of teams/tasks to identify efficiency and/or automation opportunities
- Inform, influence, and support data product and process efficiency decisions
- Partner with a variety of teams/departments/product managers to document technical requirements for delivery of project/product requests.
- Partner with Data team to estimate the work and technology solutions required
- Groom and prioritize Product backlog to manage productivity of team of Data professionals most effectively
- Develop User Stories and define acceptance criteria
- Set Sprint Goals, follow progress of work and address production issues during sprints
- Partner with Stride Automation, Efficiency, and Assessment Project Managers to coordinate, evaluate, and prioritize State-level efficiency & BOT projects
- Serve as subject matter expert on student data, third party integrations, library of Student data reporting, State assessment Data, and district partner student information systems
- Work with Corporate Data teams to manage Texas-specific Snowflake Data Warehouse
- Validate & document all student data processes, code requirements, database logic and structures
- Provide 4th tier support when there are questions about how a product is supposed to function in production versus the behavior users are experiencing
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 2-4 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years of experience in the areas of Data Warehouse design, Data Integration, and Data Visualization & Analysis or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Analytical mind and great critical thinking skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities and history of success collaborating with executives across an organization
- Strong leadership and team building skills
- Work towards results with a passion for technology and continuous delivery
- Ability to quickly drill down to solve problems and take ownership of the resolution
- Ability to analyze process flow and identify areas for improvement
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically
- Ability to partner cross functionally to drive complex strategic projects
- Excellent management skills with the ability to work to deadlines and successfully lead multiple initiatives at once
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio); Web proficiency
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability to clear required background check
Certificates and Licenses: None required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in technology business management, data science, computer science or related quantitative field
- 3+ years of experience in Product Management or a Product Owner role
- Scrum Product Owner certification
- Microsoft Power Platform experience (PowerBI, PowerAutomate, PowerApps)
- Experience with relational databases and large data sets
- Demonstrated knowledge of Python and SQL programming language
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Experience with DBT
- Experience with K-12 educational data
Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
We anticipate the salary range to be $82,873.60 - $179,350.80

Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.
