Job Description
About The Position 
The Senior Director of Marketing will lead the Foundation’s marketing strategy and implementation to support KIPP regions in reaching student enrollment goals and strengthening the KIPP brand identity nationwide. This leader will serve as a strategic partner to regional marketing teams, providing data-driven insights, enrollment campaign direction, and tools to increase applications and drive enrollment. Reporting to VP, Marketing & Communications, the ideal candidate is a seasoned, collaborative marketing leader who thrives at the intersection of national strategy and local impact. In addition to core responsibilities, this role may also lead or contribute to special projects that advance the Foundation’s strategic priorities and innovation in marketing. 
 
Responsibilities 
Drive Enrollment Growth:  
  • Partner with regional marketing and enrollment teams to develop and implement marketing campaigns that increase student applications and conversions, aligned to regional goals.   
  • Lead and manage paid media agency vendor relationship on behalf of KIPP Network, including facilitating the approval and appropriate use of campaign budget in support of student enrollment. 
  • Analyze regional marketing performance data to identify trends, challenges, and bright spots; share insights and recommendations across the network. 
  • Develop and maintain scalable marketing toolkits, templates, and creative assets that regions can adapt for local use. 
  • Collaborate with regional support teams to track enrollment KPIs, ROI, and campaign impact. 
Strengthen and Steward the KIPP Brand 
  • Advance KIPP’s brand strategy, ensuring consistent adoption of messaging, collateral, and visual identity. 
  • Partner with Creative and Communications teams to ensure that Foundation-led campaigns, collateral, and digital assets reflect brand standards. 
  • Serve as the primary liaison to regional communications and marketing leads for brand alignment, training, and implementation support. 
  • Lead the rollout of Foundation-wide brand resources and trainings, including updates to KIPP.org and digital channels. 
Lead Foundation-Owned Marketing Channels 
  • Oversee the strategy, content, and performance of KIPP.org, email marketing, and social media channels. 
  • Partner with the Creative and Communications teams to manage editorial calendars, ensuring consistent storytelling that highlights student success, community impact, and KIPP’s mission. 
  • Establish and track KPIs for engagement, reach, and conversion across Foundation channels; continuously optimize based on analytics and insights. 
  • Ensure all digital experiences reflect accessibility, inclusion, and data privacy best practices. 
Team Leadership and Collaboration 
  • Manage a high-performing marketing team, supporting their performance, growth, and development.  
  • Foster collaboration across internal Foundation teams (Communications, Development, Data, Schools) and regional partners. 
  • Support cross-functional projects that strengthen the connection between national and regional marketing efforts (e.g., campaigns and storytelling).

Experience and Qualifications 
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations. 
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale paid media campaigns that drive measurable growth and engagement.  
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing strategy, audience segmentation, and performance analytics, with a strong grasp of emerging paid media platforms and data-driven optimization strategies.  
  • Experience leading and developing diverse teams, leading through influence in a federated model, and managing vendor or agency partnerships. 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills. 
  • Commitment to KIPP’s mission and belief in the potential of all students.

Work Conditions 
  • Travel requirements: 10-25% travel is expected for this role
  • Job Type: Full time, Exempt 

Location 
It is preferred, but not mandatory for this role to be based out of a KIPP Foundation office. This role has the option of working from a remote office full-time. KIPP Foundation offices are in NYC and Chicago. 

Compensation and Benefits 
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, and relevant experience. The salary range for this position is [$150,000-$181,000]. In addition, KIPP Foundation provides a variety of benefits to employees, including:  
  • 25 holidays for + 18 days additional flexible PTO days (flexible PTO increases to 23 days for years 3 and 4 and to 28 days for years 5+).
