Job Description

The Student Services Coordinator is a part-time position, who serves as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including prospective students and their families and community partners during the evening and some weekends at the Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Development (the Center) located in Newport News.
The primary focus is providing exceptional customer service and support to all those who enter this state-of-the-art facility. The coordinator will support administrative functions, including assisting with admission, registration, transcript evaluation, informed financial aid referrals, and the enrollment documentation processing, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in student records management. This position will also assist with operational, technical, and maintenance-related inquiries for the Center.
Primary work hours will be Monday through Thursday evenings between 12-7 p.m. and approximately one Friday and one Saturday each month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. These work hours will be expected when the college is open for classes which are determined by the College’s Annual Academic Calendar. Additional shifts may be available between semesters or at alternative work locations, should there be a need and availability.
Special Assignments | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications | Knowledge· Familiarity with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.· Knowledge of common office practices, techniques, and technology.· Working Knowledge of admission, registration, and financial aid processes.
