Job Summary
The Student Engagement Coordinator supports the mission of Bluegrass Community and Technical College by developing and coordinating student activities across all BCTC campuses and online. This position plays a key role in fostering a vibrant campus community through the planning and implementation of events, student organizations, intramural sports, and leadership opportunities. The coordinator assists with oversight of the Student Government Association, supports First Year Orientations, and promotes student engagement initiatives through effective marketing, social media, and communication strategies. Collaborating with faculty, staff, and campus partners, the coordinator ensures that programs align with college goals, enhance student success, and reflect institutional values. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, assisting with budget planning, and supporting continuous improvement through assessment and evaluation of engagement efforts.
This position reports to the Director of Student Engagement.
Job Duties:
- Develop and coordinate student activities at all BCTC campuses and online including regional campuses.
- Assist with the coordination and oversight of student organizations.
- Oversee Student Success Hub social media by creating a strong online presence and engaging with students, ensuring compliance with college communication standards and strategies.
- Assist in the coordination of the Student Government Association and serve as Co-Advisor.
- Coordinate intramural sports including promotion, tracking data, and scheduling and overseeing games.
- Assist the Student Success Coordinator with the implementation of college-wide First Year Orientations at all campuses.
- Assist with the development of marketing and promotional materials – flyers, postcards, social media posts, etc.
- Assist with updating content of the online student engagement website and events calendar.
- Work cooperatively with college faculty, advisors, and other departments to coordinate services for students.
- Assist with budget planning for student activities at all BCTC campuses.
- Promote the Student Success Hub programs and services throughout the college.
- Support accountability and institutional effectiveness by developing, implementing, and assessing effective procedures that support college operations and foster student success.
- Keep accurate records relating to services provided to students.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work or related field.
Two years of experience
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to all BCTC campuses.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work or related field.
Four years of experience in student support services working with community college students

Demonstrates ability to engage, motivate, and communicate effectively with students in group and individual settings; strong public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills required.

Position requires regular travel between campus locations. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software.
Ability to think critically, be innovated, and learn new and inventive ways to engage students.
Must have a strong understanding and knowledge of student educational, social, and economic assets and barriers.
