Department: Bauer Division of Technology
Salary: $61,600-$70,050
Description: Analyzes and evaluates existing and proposed systems; plans and develops computer solutions; and provides system management support.

1. Analyzes, develops and maintains electronic information systems for a major university function or program.
2. Interfaces with users to identify needs and oversees the preparation and compilation of resulting data and reports.
3. Trains staff to use computers and the implemented system; instructs clerical staff on system use.
4. Develops long-range planning of software/hardware purchases and developments; recommends all hardware, software and peripheral purchases.
5. May supervise data entry and computing support personnel; designs new processes and procedures for maximum utilization of human resources.
6. Administers and modifies database; performs systems analysis to ensure data integrity; designs all new computing processes; develops implementation procedures and schedule of new automated tasks.
7. Represents the department with other administrative offices concerning system modification.
8. May lead lower-level systems analysts.
9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Description:

This position works in the Bauer College of Business Division of Technology. The department provides faculty and staff with solutions to their computer-related requests and makes certain that installations of server-based software and specialized software are properly installed and maintained, among many other services. We also work with university’s IT to provide the college with the optimal operating systems and network connections.

The Systems Analyst primary job responsibilities are to monitor and maintain the current Windows and Linux server hardware and software environments for Bauer College, to develop solutions to help the college operate more efficiently and effectively, to resolve client service request and to assist the other team members when needed. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter who understands the importance of working in a team environment.

Additional responsibilities may include:
1. Monitoring and maintain - Install Windows updates on servers and desktops.
2. Install and upgrade windows servers.
3. Storage and retrieval solutions.
4. Backup solutions such as Veeam and Druva.
5. Monitoring and modifying system parameters.
6. Develop, document and update server team procedures.
7. Install monitor and maintain network printers.
8. Increase system performance and efficiency through in-depth analysis and test

Preferences:
Special consideration will be given to candidates with knowledge and/or experience in any of the following technologies:
o Microsoft products: Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, SCCM, Active Directory, SharePoint, Azure.
o Dell, HP, EMC storage and server hardware and management software
o VMWare virtualization and VDI.
o Basic understanding of Networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, IP subnetting, VLANs, etc.
o Familiarity with relationship database methodology.

MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
