Job Description

Overview
Medxcel is here to lead the transformation of healthcare facilities management by incorporating a new approach to providing services. The Training Specialist II instructs in-person and virtual technical training and soft skills courses. This individual creates and implements technical training plans for field leaders and technicians and monitors learning retention via Kirkpatrick evaluation standards and metrics. The Training Specialist II supports the instructional design team by creating supplemental training materials for technical and soft skills programs and conducting regular audits of technical training content to ensure resources remain up to date. This individual also serves as level two support for user questions about assigned technical training platforms.

This position will be located at Home Office (CO) - Anywhere.
Responsibilities

Technical Training and New Site Implementation
  • Deliver well-paced, interactive technical training sessions in face-to-face, blended, and distance learning environments.
  • Create and administer Kirkpatrick learning evaluations to measure learning retention, skills mastery, and behavioral change (i.e. full adoption of technology and consistent use on the job).
  • Identify at-risk learners and provide additional training support in the classroom or virtually as appropriate.
  • Monitor long-term learner performance in technical systems and provide remediation support as needed in coordination with site leadership.
  • Work with key stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) in the development of implementation training plans.
  • Create training schedules for new site implementations and work collaboratively with implementation project managers when non-standard schedules are needed.
  • Conduct train-the-trainer sessions on specific topics and ensure trainees can demonstrate proficiency.
 
Soft Skills Facilitation
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual learning sessions to support growth in people skills, productivity, and/or leadership development.
  • Create a safe learning environment and effectively facilitate open, honest discussion on interpersonal topics.
  • Engage learners in interactive activities and simulations to create meaningful context and foster behavioral change.
  • Monitor and report on Level III Kirkpatrick metrics to measure behavioral change against desired learning outcomes.
 
Instructional Design
  • Participate in training needs analysis using ADDIE methodology to identify desired learning outcomes, learning objectives, training requirements, project constraints, and evaluation metrics.
  • Create supplemental training materials as part of the instructional design plan, including quick reference guides, checklists, infographics, screenshots, screenflows, and other materials to support the instructional design team.
  • Conduct regular audits of technical training content to ensure resources remain up to date and make specific, detailed recommendations for any changes needed.
  • Actively research and learn new technologies, training methodologies, and technical content that may enhance training curriculum.
 
Project Management
  • Successfully manage and provide regular status updates on multiple projects or training plans.
  • Develop and implement streamlined learning services processes and workflows to improve quality and ensure timeliness of deliverables.
  • Maintain open communication with ODL&T leadership and key stakeholders, providing transparency about critical issues and recommending solutions.
 
General Learning Services
  • Troubleshoot problems and resolve issues with customers.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to other departments as needed.
  • Manage rosters and attendance records for sessions delivered.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education:
Minimum Required:      
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent related experience.

  • Master’s degree in related field (e.g. Business, Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Technology).

  • 1-3 years of experience in basic instructional design.
