Position Summary

Yeshiva University is seeking an Academic Advisor to join the Beren Campus community in New York, NY. Reporting within the Office of Academic Advisement, this role provides comprehensive academic advising and support to undergraduate students, helping them navigate degree requirements, course selection, and academic policies while connecting them to campus resources that support their success.

Academic Advisement

Advise a caseload of undergraduate students on course selection, degree requirements, and academic planning
Monitor student academic progress and proactively reach out to students who show signs of academic difficulty
Serve as a key team member for the Yeshiva Success Network (YSN – Starfish), using the platform to track advising notes, flags, and referrals
Interpret and explain university academic policies, procedures, and degree requirements to students
Assist students with registration, add/drop processes, and resolution of academic holds
Refer students to appropriate campus resources, including tutoring, counseling, career services, and financial aid, as needed

Academic Enrichment Programs

Support the planning and delivery of academic enrichment programming and workshops for undergraduate students
Collaborate with faculty and other student services staff to coordinate programs that support student retention and success
Assist in the development of orientation and onboarding content related to academic advisement

Experience & Educational Background

Master's degree required
Minimum of five years of relevant academic advising or higher education experience
Experience with early-alert and advising software platforms such as Starfish strongly preferred

Skills & Competencies

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse student population
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing an advising caseload
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a student services team
Proficiency with student information systems and advising technology
