Job Summary  | Supports the Center for Civics, Culture, and Society (the Center) in its mission to, “conduct teaching and research in the historical ideas, traditions, and texts that have shaped the American constitutional order and society.” Designs and oversees internal processes for research management, program evaluation, and budget administration, including endowments and grants. Supports curriculum development, contract management, and compliance with Cleveland State University (CSU) and funding agency policies. Serves as a key advisor to the Center’s director, contributes to strategic planning, communication, outreach, and marketing efforts. Recruits and evaluates adjunct faculty and staff. Manages digital and email marketing platforms and facilitates academic enrichment opportunities for faculty. Supervises staff, reallocates resources as needed, sets performance goals, and acts as the director in the director’s absence. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree in political science, philosophy, economics, literature, history, classics, sociology, or related field. Four (4) years of experience in program management. Leadership or supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications  | Master’s degree in political science, philosophy, economics, literature, history, classics, sociology, or related field. Five (5) years of experience in program and/or event management, research, and tenured management. Experience in the development of non-degree and executive education programs. Experience in higher education setting with a diverse and multicultural student base.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)  | Knowledge of website development and/or online content management. Skilled in proposal development and special event planning. Skilled in setup and management of database systems and processes. Skilled in problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence, and persuasion. The ability to function as systems thinker and be solution-minded with a global perspective. Excellent interpersonal skills, “Customer Focus” attitude, and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Detail-oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data; maintain detailed comprehensive records; analyze and organize information; write and disseminate comprehensive reports; and possess time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong public speaking skills with particular attention to detail. Ability to make effective presentations, develop and drive change, and effectively communicate change. Ability to effectively engage with all stakeholders to ensure appropriate communication, develop, implement effective plans. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of website development and/or online content management. Skilled in proposal development and special event planning.
