Job Summary  | The Associate Director for Admissions will provide leadership for First-Year and College and Transfer admission recruitment teams. Support overall day-to-day planning and event operations for the Office of Admissions. Recruit students and strategically plan recruitment efforts to meet enrollment goals for the university. The position will play a key role in UTA’s efforts toward reaching First-Year and Transfer annual enrollment goals, lead in areas pertaining to services designed for student success, develop, grow, and serve the varied student populations making up UTA including first generation, high achieving, transfer, and international students. Foster a positive working environment that honors the UTA Principles of Community, to leads to healthy levels of productivity and contributes to UTA being increasingly known as a great place to work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  | Provide leadership and manage professional staff members including assistant directors of undergraduate First-Year and Transfer recruitment teams, admission counselors, and student staff. Coach and lead team efforts to reach enrollment goals. Professional development of staff members. Assists and coordinates with UTA Admissions marketing, events, and CRM teams in the development, implementation, execution, and evaluation of First Year and Transfer recruitment initiatives, including multi-channel communication opportunities, targeting specific geographical markets both on campus and off campus to meet enrollment goals. Meet with prospective students, families, counselors and other interested parties about admissions requirements and procedures. Provide presentations as requested and represent the university in activities to promote UTA and admissions enrollment. Coordinate and manage UTA’s attendance at college fairs with the Undergraduate Recruitment Council. Assists in Managing partnership programming and student engagement; liaisons between Admissions and UTA academic colleges, and represents the university at local and community functions. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Admissions, Recruitment, Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs or Student Affairs or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role. Experience with the recruitment of students from various backgrounds, including high performing students. Supervisory experience. Experience with recruitment marketing tools.

Preferred Qualifications  | Master’s degree and seven (7) years of experience in admissions, enrollment management, academic affairs, or student affairs. Three (3) years of management experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  | Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Stellar customer service skills including welcoming hospitality. Ability to work with a variety of staff of all ages and backgrounds. Skilled in supervising professionals and student employees. Ability to multi-task, adapt, and solve problems. Knowledge and understanding of technology in the recruitment process. Skilled in training and staff development. Knowledge of analyzing recruitment-related data and assessing recruitment activities as part of a strategic enrollment plan. Ability to work with student populations from a variety of backgrounds. Ability to understand and influence markets. Ability to be a self-starter and team player.
Other Requirements  | Must have a valid Texas driver’s license. Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification may render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
