 | Department: Athletics
| Salary: $56,800-$65,000
| Description: Under the Strategic Communications unit leader, the position will be responsible for leading brand enhancement through social media content and strategy by deepening fan engagement and elevating the profile of Houston Athletics.

1. Plans and executes the strategic creation and management of compelling and visually appealing content for social media platforms.
2. Monitors social media channels and responds to relevant comments and concerns.
3. Serves as primary communications (SID) contact for select Olympic sport(s) handling day-to-day communications responsibilities acting as liaison to assess and fulfill publicity, statistics, history and media needs.
4. Collaborates with team members on planning and execution of social media campaigns, contests, and promotions.
5. Ideates with the content team to develop content that stays within brand guidelines.
6. Leads weekly content meetings between external departments (communications, creative directors, marketing, ticketing, Cougar Pride, etc.).
7. Demonstrates sound judgment to curate, prioritize, and publish posts that are consistent with brand messaging, but also with an eye to expand and engage our audiences.
8. Supports day-to-day social copywriting and publishing for Main Athletics account.
9. Assists in creating compelling and visually appealing content for social media platforms.
10. Stays up to date with current trends and best practices in social media marketing and identify opportunities for innovation.
11. Provides support during football and men?s basketball games, capturing real-time content, archiving in-game photos and assisting coordinators with various content needs.
12. Audits social media practices across Main Account and team accounts
13. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

MQ:
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directly related job experience.
